Home Trends for 2023 - Georgie & Ella

Home Trends for 2023

Textured Haus was recently featured in a local Kansas City magazine, Northland City Lifestyle! It was an honor to sit down with their editor, Katie Currid, and talk all things Textured Haus and all the trends we have been seeing for 2023. Here are the top 4 trends mentioned in the article that I am personally most excited about:

1. Vivid Color

Color is back with a vengeance this year! Neutrals have reigned supreme for several years now, and while I love a good organic, neutral space, I am so excited that people are ready to branch out and add some more character back into their homes. If you are intrigued by color, but not quite ready to take the leap, start small with some colored pillows or glassware. Wallpaper is another great way to add in color to your neutral furnishings. I especially love it in small spaces like the powder room or laundry room.

2. Richly-Textured Furniture

Neutral textured furniture is still very alive and well in 2023. No matter your own decorating style-modern, eclectic, vintage, boho, farmhouse, and anything in between, adding in richly textured and sculptural furniture will add a cozy statement to your home. Although some of these pieces may be perceived as too trendy for some, I believe that if you are investing in pieces that you truly love, it doesn't matter what "trend" it is part of and your home will come together seamlessly.

3. Sustainable Style

I have always believed that homes should incorporate natural materials, and it definitely shows in the offerings I have purchased for Textured Haus, so it is no surprise that we love all the woods, marbles, ceramics, greenery, and other natural elements that are so hot right now. More and more people are also realizing the importance of making good choices for the earth, and are repurposing more vintage decor and furniture.

4. Curated Maximalism

I came up this trend title to describe 2023 trends as a whole. It is as a mixture of all of the above mentioned trends. We are seeing a lot of neutral staple pieces in homes, mixed with grandma's buffet, mixed with natural elements, but this year we are adding back the fun into our homes and really enjoying the whole decorating process more. We are adding patterns and color, but instead of a wide mix of colors throughout the home, color is being added in a more curated manner so that it flows well throughout the whole space.

In conclusion, I want to say that although we talk about trends here and tend to offer trendy pieces, we fully believe that decorating should be a representation of who you are and your character. It should be collected over time, including and especially vintage pieces and memorabilia from your travels. With neutral homes being all the rage in recent years, many homes have begun to look very similar to one another and, quite frankly, kind of boring and unoriginal. I dare you to make some bold choices this year. As long as you are staying true to who you are and what you love, you can't go wrong. Truly. If you need a little help, though, we are here for you!

Love,

Courtney
